Requirements
To rent a car, you must be at least 20 years old (age may vary by car category) and have held your license for 2 years. Drivers under the age of 25 may incur a young driver surcharge. Seatbelts are mandatory and children up to age 7 must wear an age appropriate restraint.

Speed Limits
Speed limits in Sweden are as follows: City - 31/mph/50kph, Open Roads - 55mph/90kph, Highways - 68mph/110kph.

Rules of the Road
Traffic travels on the right and trams are to be passed on the right. You must drive with headlights on 24 hours a day.

Gas
Most gas stations open from 7am to 10pm. Automatic pump, marked 'sedel automat,' operate after business hours and accept paper money.

Parking
Most Swedish cities operate on both metered on-street parking and timed ticket machines from 8am to 6pm. On street parking usually takes place on the right side of the road only. Sweden imposes incredibly high fines for parking violations.
