Requirementso rent a car, you must be at least 21 years old (age may vary by car category) and have held your license for 1 year. Drivers under the age of 25 may incur a young driver

surcharge. An International driving licence is not required. Children must be at least 12 years of age to sit in the front of the vehicle unless a special secured seat is fitted.
Rules of the RoadVehicles drive on the right-hand side of the road. Unless indicated (with a yellow diamond symbol next to the junction) priority is always given to the cars on the right. Lights must be on all the time, seatbelts are mandatory for passengers in the front and drivers are forbidden to speak on a mobile phone while driving. Horns should be used only in cases of extreme danger in built up areas. Outside built up areas a horn is used to indicate that a vehicle intends to pass.
Speed LimitsSpeed limits in Macedonia are as follows: City - 31mph/50kph, Open Roads - 50mph/80kph, Highways - 75mph/120kph.
TollsThere are no toll roads in Macedonia.
ParkingParking is allowed on the right side of the road. In the cities, there are many fee-paying car parks, but parking in the centre of the city can be very hard to find.
