Requirements
To rent a car, you must be at least 21 years old (age may vary by car category) and have held your license for 1 year. Drivers under the age of 25 may incur a young driver surcharge. Seatbelts are mandatory. Children 12 years and below should always occupy the backseat. A child safety seat is needed for children 4 years old and below.

Speed limits
Speed limits in Faroe Islands are as follows: City - 31mph/50kph, Open Roads - 50mph/80kph. The normal penalty for speeding is confiscation of your driving licence. Be on the look out for pedestrians or wild animals in the road.
